Melvin Lewis Everette, 64, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at his home in Franklin, Virginia. He was born on July 3, 1951, and was well-known throughout the Southampton area for his craftsmanship in carpentry and painting.

A viewing for those wishing to personally pay their respects will be held at New Hope Baptist Church, 1415 Rosewood Ave in Franklin, Virginia, on Thursday May 19, from noon until 2 p.m.

Funeral services will follow the viewing, beginning at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Southview Cemetery in Franklin, Virginia.

Keith Mathews Funeral Home of Norfolk Virginia are handling the funeral arrangements. A repass for family and friends will be at New Hope Baptist Church Annex Building (located onsite in the rear).
