COURTLAND — Anne Victoria Parker, 75, was born on Aug. 7, 1940, in Sedley, Virginia, to the late Samuel G. Benn and Addie Benn. Anne was the fourth of six siblings.
She accepted Jesus early in life, and was a member of O’Berry AME Zion Church as a child and in her early adult years. She attended Southampton County Public Schools.
Anne was very caring and giving. This compassion for others lead her to the profession of nursing. She provided more than 30 years of nursing and touched countless lives with her care.
Personally, Anne was witty, very humorous, loved to read and loved to cook.
She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and they loved her. She followed Jesus’ discipleship of loving others and giving. She would always find a way to give of herself, resources, and talents.
She was married to the love of her life, Reuben, on June 21, 1969. Anne leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Reuben (Courtland), three children; James (Cheri), Patricia (Hebert) and Kevin (Nicole), all of Franklin; 10 grandchildren; and also great-grandchildren. In addition, she also leaves to cherish a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
The wake will be conducted from 6-7 p.m. on Wednesday May 11, in William M. Engram Sr. Memorial Chapel of Engram Funeral Home.
