CARRSVILLE — Travis Dwayne Powell, 25, passed away on May 1, 2016, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Travis was born in Franklin, and was a pipefitter at Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, four wheeling and driving his truck.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved son, Brantley Dwayne Powell; his mother, Wanda Billups White (Chuck); his father, Steven D. Powell; maternal grandparents, Earl Billups (Betty); paternal grandparents, Harold and Betty Powell; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and beloved friends.

He was the grandson of the late Mable Billups.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin. Burial will follow at Tucker Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home, and suggests memorial donations be made to a favorite charity.
