WINDSOR
The 13th annual Blue ‘n’ Gray 5K was lucky again in weather last Friday when middle school students ran for their health. They were joined by faculty, parents and several Windsor high schools students.

Coach Jeff Hampton, the health and physical education teacher at Georgie D. Tyler Middle School, said he was again pleased with the participation.

“It really remained the same of where we ran and why we do it, “ he said, adding that the students genuinely seem to have a good time. “They love it. They really enjoyed it.”

Hampton explained at last year’s event that training take place for eight weeks beforehand.

His hope is that the activity will further instill the habit of exercising and even make “lifelong runners out of them.”

The respective schools gave out awards to the young runners.
