For the third straight year, the Children’s Center will participate in Give Local 757, a local fundraising event where people can donate from anywhere in the world.
The event will take place from midnight through midnight on Tuesday, May 3.
During that time, everyone can become a philanthropist by donating online at givelocal757.org.
On the day of the event, donors can make a donation on the website using MasterCard, Visa, American Express, or Discover. There will be links to the Give Local 757 website from the Children’s Center webpage (www.childrenscenterva.com) and the Children’s Center Facebook page (Children’s Center official).
The minimum donation this year is $10.
“We are excited to be a part of Give Local 757 for a third year,” said Jeff Zeigler, Community Relations Coordinator for the Children’s Center. “We are grateful for the support of the Southeast Virginia Community Foundation, the Peninsula Community Foundation, and the Hampton Roads Community Foundation for coordinating this event.
These Foundations are showing true leadership when it comes to supporting non-profits across Hampton Roads and Western Tidewater.
“Once again our goal is to raise $5,000 through this one-day campaign” he added.
Zeigler talked about the simplicity of donating electronically.
“So many people today purchase products and services through the internet. The same can be done for donations to charitable organizations,” he said. “Although you can donate to the Children’s Center through our website, this campaign is another easy way to donate electronically.”
The Children’s Center can also win a host of additional prizes. Check the Give Local 757 website (givelocal757.org/prizes) for details.
