RALEIGH, N.C. — Candace Ann Bass Franklin, 66, passed away on April 20, 2016, at UNC Rex Health Care in Raleigh.

Candy was born in Southampton County, and was a graduate of Southampton High School and Radford University. Candy was a loan officer for Southeastern Mortgage Company in Raleigh.
She was predeceased by her parents, Roy Lester Bass and Mable Estes Bass Staples, and a brother, Ronald Wayne Bass.
She leaves behind one aunt, Emily Bass of Courtland, Virginia; many cousins and many friends; and her two beloved dogs, Jake and Ladybug.
The graveside service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, in Riverside Cemetery, 22416 Main St., Courtland, with Dr. Robert Carpenter officiating. The reception will follow at Courtland Baptist Church.
Memorial donations may be made to your local SPCA, Sheltie Rescue or any favorite charity.
