FRANKLIN — Nellie Chapman Johnson, 88, passed away on April 18, 2016, at her granddaughter’s home surrounded by her family.

She was a native of Beckley, West Virginia, and was a daughter of the late Walter Vernon Chapman Sr. and Ora Ola Kasey Chapman, and was also predeceased by her husband, James Leland “Coochie” Johnson; a niece, Joyce Molnar; a nephew, Jimmy Holt; and eight siblings.

Left to cherish her memory are a son, Ronnie Lee Johnson of Newsoms; a granddaughter, Rhonda Johnson Vick (Timmy) of Newsoms; six great-grandchildren, Robert Lee Vick, James Leland Vick, Amanda Faith Vick, Jayson Jacob Coulter, Barbara Marie Smith (Caleb) and LeeAnn Heath (Patrick); and four great-great grandchildren, Chelsea Nikkol Smith, James Ethan Smith, Hannah Marie Heath and Daniel Lee Heath; a special nephew, Ray Newton Chapman (Rose); and a special niece, Rose Holt ,both of Black Creek.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, in Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Jason Wise officiating. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley.
