BOYKINS—James Edward Brooks, 66, of Boykins, VA, departed this earthly life on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Hunter Holmes McGuire Veterans Administration Medical Center, Richmond, Virginia.

James was born November 11, 1949 to the parentage of the late Willie Edward Brooks and Dathia Person Brooks.

Cherishing his memories are his wife, Ceolia Brooks; two daughters, Sandy Jones of Maryland and Renee Higgs of Virginia; five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

A Service of Remembrance honoring his life, legacy and love will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2016 at Mars Hill Baptist Church, 11211 Low Ground Road, Emporia, Virginia. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Faison’s Funeral Home, 301 Park Street Seaboard, North Carolina.
