International Paper Foundation recently bestowed three separate $2,000 checks upon Southampton County Public Schools as part of its Signature Giving Fund.

“We hope that this grant will help to make a difference in your community,” IP Executive Director Deano C. Orr said. “We extend our best wishes to you for continued success and look forward to hearing about your accomplishments during the year. It is a pleasure to be among your supporters.”

The grants will provide funding toward the purchase of science, nonfiction-leveled textbooks and a greenhouse at Riverdale Elementary; an outdoor classroom at Capron Elementary; and materials that would enhance the Nottoway Elementary STEM Club program.

“For different reasons, all of [the grants] were very important,” Southampton Superintendent Dr. Alvera J. Parrish said. “We are very pleased and very thankful and appreciative of International Paper Foundation for believing in our students and our commitment to our partnership going forward.”
