WAKEFIELD
Elizabeth Bailey “Precious” Owen, 83, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 13, 2016. Born and raised in Wakefield, she was the daughter of the late William A. Bailey and Alma Morris Bailey and was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Oscar Russell “Bum” Owen. Elizabeth was a devoted wife and mother who loved her family and spent her life lovingly raising her daughters and looking after her home.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Dorenda “Rendy” Owen Powers and husband, Bill and Melinda Morris Owen; grandchildren, Rusty Davis and wife, Amy, Dr. Will Powers and wife, Brandy, Jason S. Holt and Kate E. Truitt; great grandchildren, Ella Katherine Powers, Cooper Brayden Powers and Daisy Elizabeth Davis; brother, A. L. “Son” Bailey and wife, Annetta; brother-in-law, Bobby Owen and wife, Ethel and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 17, 2016 at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home, Wakefield Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, March 18, 2016 at the funeral home with Rev. Steven R. Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at Wakefield Cemetery.
