According to Sgt. Michelle Anaya, spokesperson for the Virginia State Police, a pursuit was initiated north of Emporia.

“The driver and male passenger both fled from the vehicle on foot into the wooded area off of Waters Wheel Road [in] Greensville County,” Anaya said.

The collaborative effort to locate the suspects also involves the Greensville County Sheriff’s Office and Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries.

The Virginia State Police identified and provided a photo of the driver, but did not reveal his name. If anyone in the area sees the individual, contact 911 or the Virginia State Police Communications Center at 424-6800.
