ISLE OF WIGHT
The Isle of Wight County School board will hear several presentations, along with conducting normal business, at their regular meeting on Thursday night. The meeting will begin at 5 p.m. going into closed session, and then opening up into public session where the presentations will begin.

Some of the items being presented on include the fine arts, I on Instruction: Big Buddy Program, propane powered buses and the stormwater design report and calculations for Windsor High.

According to the agenda, the presentation regarding propane powered buses will highlight the advantages of switching to these types of buses.

One reason these buses could be better for the county is they could help save money per mile by operating with propane autogas, instead of diesel.

Also on the agenda is Division Superintendent James Thornton discussing a change request in the Capital Improvement Plan for the public schools for school year 2017-2018.

An analysis on the roofing conditions of each of the schools was recently done an it was determined that the roofs at Carrsville Elementary, Windsor Elementary and Carrollton Elementary all needed to be replaced as soon as possbile.

These items, along with several others, will be the topics of discussion at the upcoming meeting.

The meeting will take place in the Robert C. Claud Sr. Boardroom in the Isle of Wight County Courthouse.
