FRANKLIN
The Franklin High School Drama Club will have its next production from Thursday, Feb. 25 through Saturday, Feb. 27. The group will be performing the well-known play “Cyrano.”

Without giving too much away, the basic plot line is about a two male best friends who fall in love with the same beautiful girl. While one of the boys is apparently more good-looking than the other, the other boy has better brains, a bigger heart and a much larger nose.

The play Franklin High’s performance is “based off the modern movie ‘Roxanne,’” said one of the leads Conner Shanks. “I’’m sure the audience will find it pretty funny and entertaining. There’s a lot of sarcasm.”

Both the other leads, Chance McCoy and Lauren Causey, said that although the parts they have for this play are very different than any other they’ve had before, they love it and are having a lot of fun.

First-time actor Trevon Bellamy said, “I really really like it. I was skeptical to join [Drama Club] because it is out of my character, but my peers have given me more confidence.”

Bellamy also added that because of the great experience he is having with “Cyrano,” he is hoping to be able to take part in more of the productions that the drama club puts on.

The play will be performed in the Franklin High School auditorium, and begins at 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, Saturday’s production time has not yet been set.
