It was announced at the meeting on Thursday night that Franklin City Public Schools had received two grant checks from Franklin Southampton Charities to be used in their spring grant applications. The total amount of the two checks is $177,535.

With the two grant checks, Franklin Southampton Charities provided guidelines for programs the money has to be used for: Robotics Team $1,150; Health Occupations Program $28,600; FHS DECA and Association for Marketing $7,500; The STREAM Summer School Enrichment $110,020; Science Department $10,695; Graz’n Acres Program $4,000; and Future Problem Solving Program $15,570.

Franklin Southampton Charities also asked that the Superintendent Dr. Willie Bell provide a brief interim report on the use of the funds six months after the grant check date, and a more detailed final report on the 10th day of the twelfth month following the date of the grant check.

Bell and members of the school board were very excited about the funds that had been provided to them.
