Donald “Bob” Lee Dalton, 88, passed away on Jan. 30, 2016.

He was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia, the son of the late John and Audra Dalton. He was also predeceased by his granddaughter, Hayley Marie Agatha Dalton.

Bob was a United States Navy veteran, having served with the Seabees during WWII and fought in Okinawa. He also served in the United States Army and served in Guam. He later went on to work and then retire as a truck driver for Grayson Mitchell Trucking Company.

Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary J. Dalton; children, Debra and Steven Campbell, Sherry and Darrell Nelson, Betty and Joseph Brown, Melodie and Rickie Dooley, John and Karen Dalton, Bobby and Brenda Dalton, Pat and Tammy Dalton, Diana and Don Smyth, and Don and Debbie Dalton; 27 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

The graveside memorial service with military honors will be on Friday, Feb. 26, at 3 p.m. in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, with the Rev. Brooks Gale officiating.
