The First Lady of Virginia, Dorothy McAuliffe, will be visiting the Cover 3 Foundation on Friday, Feb. 12, to take a tour and look at the daily procedures.

“We are thrilled to have the First Lady of Virginia visit us to see our daily operations at Cover 3 Foundation,” Cover 3 Foundation Founder and CEO Greg Scott said. “It is truly an honor to have her and we are anxiously anticipating her visit.”

Cover 3 Foundation is a premier, private, non-profit organization that is a sponsor of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) under the Virginia Department of Health.

Scott said that the foundation was asked in early December to attend the Virginia Out of School Summit in Richmond.

The purpose of the summit was for sponsors to be able to present their practices that they use to stay organized and efficient, as well as to learn from others. The reception for the event was held at the Governor’s Mansion.

“During our visit the First Lady expressed her interest in visiting Cover 3 Foundation to see our daily operations of the food program the feeds 3200 to 3500 children everyday,” Scott said.

During McAuliffe’s visit, she will get to witness from start to finish, the daily routine of preparing, packaging and delivery scheduling of meals to the foundation’s various sites.

“This is a huge honor for Cover 3 Foundation and we are super excited about this opportunity,” Scott added.

“We also want to thank the First Lady, Dorothy McAuliffe, for being such huge advocate of fighting childhood hunger.”
