FRANKLIN
Every day during February and March, PETA will be holding “Spay Day” at a discounted rate in their mobile clinics. PETA is celebrating its 35th Anniversary this year and 15 years of the Mobile Clinic Program. This cost for the dogs will be $35 and the cost for cats will be $15.

“There is no better way to celebrate PETA’s milestones than by helping our community combat the homeless-animal overpopulation crisis through prevention,” said PETA Senior Vice-President Daphna Nachminovitch. “Spay Day is the perfect time to take action to prevent more puppies and kittens from being born into a world with no room for them.”

Since 2001, PETA has provided low cost spay/neuter services to more than 123,000 dogs and cats, including 11,929 in 2015.

“We see anywhere from 20 to 35 animals a day, and 1,000 animals a month,” PETA Community Liaison Rachel Bellis said.

The mobile clinic will be in Franklin on Thursday, Feb. 18, at Island Tan, and in Isle of Wight on Wednesday, Feb. 10, at the animal shelter.

To find out where else the mobile clinic will be, refer to the calendar on the PETA website.

An appointment is needed to attend the clinic. To do so, call 622-7382 ext. 3, or visit www.peta.org/spayneuter.
