KITTY HAWK, N.C. — Jimmy Dean Hewett, 59, of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, in the Baptist Hospital of Miami, Florida. He was born on Oct. 3, 1956, in Franklin, Virginia.

Jimmy was the owner of Kitty Hawk Garden Center.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Alice Ezzell Hewett.

He is survived by his wife, Chris; his daughter, Mandy; son, Joshua; and granddaughter, Leah, all of Kitty Hawk. His father, Alfred (Cubie) Hewett; brothers, Gary (Deborah), Darrell and wife, Barbara, are all of Sedley, Virginia.

The funeral will be held in the Gallop Funeral Services Chapel, MP 16 in Nags Head, on Saturday, Feb. 6, at 11 a.m. Friends may greet and visit the family at the funeral home one hour prior. The committal and burial rites will be at Laurel Memorial Gardens in Currituck following the funeral.
