Kenneth Sanford announced on Friday his quest to be the next mayor of the City of Franklin.

“I would like to take this opportunity to announce my campaign to be the next Mayor of the City of Franklin,” he said. “My campaign cornerstones are economic development, which will lead to job creation, a stronger education system and developing a flat rate electric bill that will make so everyone can afford to power their homes regardless of the season.”

Sanford is a graduate of Franklin High School and is retired United States Marine. He served 20 years in the service.

“I believe with the support of the citizens of Franklin working with our leaders in government, we can grow our city into a more prosperous place to live and rear our children and grandchildren,” he continued. “I invite everyone who wants to change Franklin to join me in making this happen. I would like to remind everyone change starts with one vote, so make yours count.”
