Armed Robbery at Duck Thru on Smith’s Ferry Road

At approximately 9:38 p.m. on Monday night, deputies from the Southampton County Sheriff’s Office were called to an armed robbery at the Duck Thru convenience store located at 30001 Smith’s Ferry Road. The suspect is described as a black male, shorter than six feet tall, wearing a beige camouflage jacket, dark pants and a mask.

The suspect pointed a gun at the clerk and then guided the clerk to the other clerk working in the store. The suspect then pointed the gun at the second clerk and told the clerk to give him the money.

The suspect got approximately $250 in cash before exiting the store out of the side door and running into a nearby field.

The first Sheriff’s Office personnel arrived at 9:41pm. A Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit tracked the suspect to a point just south of the store where it appeared the suspect fled in a vehicle.
