SUFFOLK — James Eldridge “Jim” Jones Jr., 69, a resident of Fayetteville, North Carolina, passed away on Jan. 14, 2016, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.

He was born in Suffolk, and was a son of the late James E. “Snooks” Jones and Elizabeth Booth Jones.

He was a member of South Quay Baptist Church, a 1964 graduate of Holland High School and a graduate of Campbell University. A retired teacher, Jim taught seventh-grade language arts in the Fayetteville, Cumberland County school system for 30 years.

Survivors include a sister, Eva Jones Williams of Suffolk; one nephew, N. Reuben Williams Jr., and his wife, Alesia of Franklin; and one great-nephew, Nate Williams of Franklin.

The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30, in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin with the Rev, James W. Browder III officiating.

A reception will follow the service at the home of Alesia and Reuben Williams at 1105 N. High St. in Franklin.
