IVOR
The Virginia Department of Transportation will close the bridge on Route 616 (Ivor Road) at the Seacock Swamp for superstructure repairs beginning on Wednesday, Jan. 20. The closure will last for six weeks.

A six-mile detour will be in place the Monday prior, directing westbound traffic to travel from Ivor Road to Millfield Road (Route 605). Head southeast on Millfield Road for 2.3 miles and turn left onto Seacock Chapel Road. Travel east on Seacock Chapel Road for 1.2 miles before turning left onto Doles Road (Route 600). Doles will intersect Ivor Road after 2.7 miles.

Those traveling eastbound will be directed to take the inverse path.

Heavy trucks are recommended to take one of two alternate detour options. Traveling from Courtland to Ivor, proceed north onto Jerusalem Plank Road (Route 35) 17.6 miles to Sussex Drive (Route 40). Turn right onto Sussex Drive and proceed northeast 7.9 miles to South County Drive (Route 460). Turn right onto South County Drive and proceed southeast 14.2 miles onto Ivor Road.

The alternate route suggests proceeding southeast 13.8 miles to Route 258 Bypass. Take exit right, turn right and proceed north 16.7 miles to Route 460. Turn left onto Route 460 and proceed northwest 10.3 miles to Ivor Road.
