COMO, N.C. — Walter Frank “Tennie” Story Sr., 79, passed away on Dec. 8, 2015, in his home with his family at his bedside.

He was born in Suffolk, a son of the late Bennie Elijah Story and Essie Odell Brewer Story. He was predeceased by his wife, Lillie Mae Glenn Story; a son, Walter Frank “Junior” Story Jr.; two brothers, Joe and Roland; and four sisters, Clara, Virginia, Pauline and Louise.

Mr. Story was a former mechanic at Brown and Williamson Cigarette Factory in Petersburg and the Franklin Equipment Company. He was the owner and operator of Carolina Bait and Tackle in Como.

Left to cherish his memory are a daughter, Deborah Sue Joncas and husband, David, of Como, North Caorlina; a sister, Mildred of Amelia; a brother, Ray of Petersburg; and six grandchildren, Jessie, Rachel, Jake and Nikki Joncas and Tina and Elizabeth Story; and four great-grandchildren, Julianna and Jazmyn Burgess and Nathaniel and Jocelyn Story.

The graveside service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12, in Mt. Horeb Cemetery with Pastor David Dillon officiating.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin.

Family and friends are invited to Deborah and David’s home after the service at 315 Boone Bridge Road in Como.
