To the Editor:
The Charles R. Younts American Legion Post 73 in Franklin wanted to let our community know that we stand behind our law enforcement officials of our area. They have a thankless job and they put their lives on the line for us each day. We want to say a great big thank you to all those who protect us from those who would do us harm.

We wanted them to know that we are behind them 100 percent. We understand that by burning a blue light in your window shows your support for our law enforcement officers. We will be burning two blue lights at our post on Armory Drive to show our support. We would like to encourage the public to display in their windows a blue light as well that we might show our officers that we all support them.

Imagine the encouragement it would be to our law enforcement officers as they drive around at night and see those blue lights shining in people’s windows. When you see a law enforcement officer, let them know that you appreciate them keeping us safe.
