Basketball clinic, workout sessions offered

EMPORIA
TopHand Sports is offering a basketball clinic for boys and girls ages 6 through 15; all skill levels are welcomed. Signups are scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 19, from 6-8 p.m., or Saturday, Dec. 5, from 9 a.m.-noon at the Emporia YMCA, 212 Weaver Ave.

Ball-handling, form shooting, agility and defensive drills will be discussed.

The cost is $10 for any EGRA participant; $20 for anyone else, and includes 2 one-hour sessions of instruction at TopHand and a two-hour clinic. EGRA coaches are welcomed to attend and assist.

Staff will include: Antwan Walton, head coach at Greensville County High School; Rustin Jessee, co-owner of TopHand Sports; Jamar Walton, two-time First Team All-State recipient and Player of the Year at the school, and is now in his 11th year of playing professional basketball; Randy Jessee, co-owner of TopHand Sports who coached the school’s team to four consecutive state tournaments; Mike Stokes, Head JV coach at the school who played professional basketball for 10-plus years.
