FRANKLIN

On Tuesday afternoon, officer Josh Butts with the Franklin Police Department stopped by the College Drive Park to play football with some kids, and his action did not go unnoticed.

“I was driving home and saw the cop car out there at the park so I stopped to see what was going on,” Jheresa Richardson said. “The officer was playing football with the kids and when I walked over there they were playing an actual game. I sat there for a while and just watched because it was such a great thing to see. I took pictures and more cars stopped and took pictures of them as well.”

Richardson also said she felt a sense of relief to see an officer doing that and to see that he was enjoying himself.

“He was so interactive with the kids. I was so excited and I thought it was amazing. It is things like this that we need in our community,” she added.
