FRANKLIN — Rosa Jane Whitby Duke, 74, passed away on Nov. 3, 2015, at Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg.

She was a native of Greensville County, and was a daughter of the late Percie James and Fannie May Braswell Whitby. She was also predeceased by her husband, James Marshall “Jimmy” Duke, and a sister, Edna Mae Thorpe.

She was Baptist.

Left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Teresa Ann Kent (David) of Como, North Carolina; three sons, Kenny Blythe of Conway, North Carolina; Ray Blythe and Glenn Blythe, both of Franklin; one sister, Alice L. Zimmerman; six brothers, Jessie, Jimmie, Richard, Percy, Thomas and Billy Whitby; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, in Wright Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, and suggests that any memorial donations be made to a favorite charity.
