Girl Scouts of Troop 1707 have something to say

To the Editor:

This month we have been discussing things that are really important to us. Our girls have expressed concern with a few topics we’d like to share with the community. Each of these girls are 9 or 10 years old. These are the words they actually wrote and wish to let others hear what they have to say:

Christina Dunlow: Do NOT smoke! It will cause you to become addicted and it damages your health.

Rachel Blythe: Help prevent premature babies and support the March of Dimes in our area.

Sophia Hewitt: Texting and driving is bad. It can become a habit so you should stop as soon as possible so nothing bad will happen to you.

Katrina Draughn: Do NOT drink before you drive. You could crash or make another person crash and someone could get hurt.

Lydia Cleaton: Help poor people! We could donate things to them that we have a lot of and they don’t have. They might not have much of anything.

Alexandria Piper: Do NOT be a bully. Bully people are bad and they don’t make friends easily. They can hurt your feelings.

Thanks for reading from your future leaders in Franklin/Southampton County and surrounding areas.
