BOYKINS
The Southampton County Sheriff’s Office reported on Thursday afternoon a complaint in reference to suspicious activity that occurred the day prior. At approximately 7 o’clock on Wednesday night, two young black females driving an older model Dodge Caravan offered fabric softener and carpet cleaning services at a residence on South Main Street in Boykins.

“One subject advised that they were a new company out of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina,” the sheriff’s office posted on Facebook. “However, a call to the chamber of commerce showed that not to be true.”

The complainant, who believes that the residence was targeted because of the age of the occupants, said that the women became rude when they were asked to leave.

A similar incident was reported to the Greensville County Sheriff’s Office, as well.

Anyone with information are asked to contact the Southampton County Sheriff’s Office at 653-2100.
