Southampton County Public Schools are closing at 1 p.m. on Friday due to the heavy rainfall and forecast for additional significant rainfall later today.

“Our priority is transporting students home safely and to avoid school buses’ risk of challenging road conditions with the increased rainfall,” Superintendent Dr. Alvera J. Parrish said.
