Weather causing cancellations

As of deadline Thursday evening, several events in Western Tidewater scheduled for the next few days have been postponed or rescheduled due to expected inclement weather.

• The Franklin Fall Festival has been cancelled for the weekend due to the projected weather forecast.

The block party and the street festival have both been rescheduled for Friday, Nov. 13, and Saturday, Nov. 14. If you have any questions, please contact the Downtown Franklin Association at 562-6900.

• The blessing of the animals scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 3, has been postponed. The new date will be Saturday, Nov. 14.

• The 5th Annual Chamber Member Fest that was originally scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 1, has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

• Windsor’s football game at Sussex Central has been rescheduled for Monday evening at 6 p.m.

• Southampton’s football game at Brunswick has been postponed. No makeup date has been announced.

• Isle of Wight’s football game against Fuqua has been rescheduled for Friday, Oct. 16.

• Franklin’s football game at Surry County has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 27.

• Southampton Academy’s football game against Rocky Mount has been rescheduled for Monday at 7 p.m.
