Second Route 58 Corridor Study meeting to be held today

Come see information for the Virginia Department of Transportation’s Route 58 Corridor Study at the Southampton County Administration Building, 26022 Administration Center Drive, Courtland today, Sept. 30. We will be presenting the concepts and strategies for potential corridor alternatives to help support future traffic and economic development in the region for the next 20 years.

The area of interest for this study includes the segment of Route 58 (Southampton Parkway) from Route 35 (Meherrin Road) to Route 58 Business (Camp Parkway).

Citizens will be able to speak with study team representatives regarding the projects anytime between from 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. If you have any questions regarding the meeting, contact VDOT at 925-2500.

Provide your hand-written or oral comments at the meeting or submit them by Wednesday, Oct. 7, to Hampton Roads District Planner Jerry Pauley, 1700 N. Main St., Suffolk, VA 23434.
