FRANKLIN
Members of Franklin Lodge No. 151, A. F. and A. M. (Ancient Free and Accepted Masons), were recently putting insulation in the attic of the lodge and a number of old pictures were found of people who they believe are late Masters of the lodge. Two of the five images have names written on the back in pencil, but the other three are unknown. These pictures, if the names written on the back are correct, are from the 1800s.

The two names that are written on the pictures are in the anniversary book of the lodge along with the dates they served. They are Henry Cobb, who was a Master from 1891-1892, 1897-1898, 1906-1907 and 1916; and Irvin C. Wills who was a Master from 1873-1874.

“We would like to know who they are and want to be people to put their names on their pictures,” said Kevin Insull, a member of the Franklin Lodge. “When we can identify them, we will find a proper place in the lodge for them.

“Please give us a hand in identifying these people if you can. They were prominent citizens of Franklin and at the lodge. We want to give them the recognition they deserve,” he said.

If you are able to identify these pictures or have any information about them please contact Insull at 757-653-1305, other members of the Franklin Lodge or The Tidewater News at 757-562-3187.
