CARRSVILLE
Although no one was “in any direct danger,” Carrsville Elementary School went into a lock down earlier today, Sept. 24, as a precaution when an domestic incident across the street was reported by the Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office.

Kenita Bowers, spokeswoman for the school system, confirmed Carrsville Elementary’s action of not allowing anyone in or out of the school.

“The IOW Sheriff’s office did contact Carrsville Elementary School regarding a domestic incident that took place across the street from the school,” Bowers wrote in reply to an email inquiry. “As a result, the school was on lock down for approximately one hour. The IOW Sheriff’s office was present in the school during the lock down and notified the principal, Mr. [Clint] Walters, when the situation has been resolved.”
