A 22-year-old Virginia Beach man was arrested by Virginia State Police during a routine traffic stop after it was discovered that he had five outstanding warrants in his hometown, including eluding police resulting in serious injury and reckless driving. John Ross Belkov, of Lynx Drive, was pulled over at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12, for traveling 75 miles per hour in a posted 60 mile per hour zone of Southampton Parkway.

In addition to serving the five warrants, Trooper Justin Matthew Lyle charged Belkov with possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance (hash oil), possession with intent to distribute controlled paraphernalia and driving with a revoked or suspended license.

Belkov was held at the Southampton County Jail and was released on bail, according to public court records. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 1 p.m. in Southampton County General District Court.
