School board meeting called for discussion of superintendent’s contract

A closed school board meeting has been called to session on Tuesday, Aug. 25, to discuss a possible renegotiation of Superintendent Dr. Willie Bell’s contract with Franklin City school division.

Both parties were contacted, but said they could not give out any information on the matter, as it is still a closed personnel item.

Dr. Bell is under a two-year contract with a start date of July 1, 2014, and ending on June 30, 2016.

Under this contract, his annual salary for the fiscal year is $110,000.

Bell accumulates annual leave at the rate of 1.5 days per month and sick leave at the rate of one day per month.

He also receives an automobile allowance of $500 per month.

The school board pays the total premium hospitalization, medical insurance and the VRS group term life insurance for the Superintendent and his family under the current contract.

He is also provided cellphone service.
