Elna F. Jones

SEDLEY — Elna Forrest Jones, 91, passed away peacefully on Aug. 1, 2015, at her home surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Jones, the widow of William Elisha “Bill” Jones Sr., was a native of Sebrell, and a daughter of the late Edward D. and Willie Godwin Forrest. She was also predeceased by a daughter, Lynne J. Kea; two sisters, Hope Cluverius and Edna Forrest; and six brothers, E.D., John, Kenneth, Garland, Roy and Billy.

Mrs. Jones was the oldest member of Grace Memorial United Methodist Church (1932), and was a graduate of Courtland High School. After their marriage, Elna and Bill made their home in Sedley and raised their four children with lots of love and care.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Venita J. Hewitt (John) of Sedley, and Lou Anne Davis (Jeff) of Courtland; one son, William E. “Billy” Jones Jr. of Sedley; a son-in-law, Buddy Kea of Ivor; five grandchildren, Trey Kea (Tara), Jay Hewitt (Danielle), Dan Kea (Brad), Elizabeth McCoy (Adam) and Sonny Davis; four great-grandchildren, Peyton Kea, Sophia Hewitt, Forrest Kea and Jackson Railey.

The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 6, in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Rita Kanten officiating.
