KILL DEVIL HILLS, N.C. — William “Bill” Hunter Scott Jr. passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 16, 2015, in Nags Head, North Carolina, after a valiant battle with esophageal cancer.

Bill was born on Sept. 9, 1952, in Franklin, Virginia. He was the son of the late William H. Scott Sr. and Gertrude Scott, and Bill was recently predeceased by his son, Hunter Scott.

Bill was a trained cook and worked in many Outer Banks restaurants including Mulligans and Dirty Dicks. When he had free time, Bill enjoyed surfing, and watching professional sports. He loved relaxing with friends, and will be remembered as the “life of the party.”

In lieu of flowers, the family gratefully suggests that memorial tributes in Bill’s honor be donated to The Outer Banks Relief Foundation and/or the Inter Faith Community Outreach (ICO).

In accordance with Bill’s wishes, the family will hold a private memorial service at a future date.
