On Thursday around 10 a.m., the Franklin Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Safe Streets Peninsula Task Force attempted to execute an arrest warrant for Phillip “Philly” Jerome Murphy, 41, of 417 Morton St., on charges related to a gang, drug and weapons trafficking investigation.

According to spokeswoman Christina F. Pullen, the suspect fled into a field behind the home when authorities arrived. Murphy remains a fugitive at large.

Those with information into Murphy’s whereabouts are asked to contact the FBI at 455-0100, or the Franklin Police Department at 562-8575.

Update: Murphy is in custody, and an initial hearing is tentatively scheduled for Friday
