Hollis Gwaltney, Robert Bridges wed

Hollis Lane Gwaltney and Robert Myers Bridges were married on Saturday, May 30, 2015, at half-past five o’clock in the afternoon on the lawn of The Inn at Warner Hall in Gloucester, Virginia.

The Rev. John Falk of Yorktown, Virginia, officiated the ceremony, and Elizabeth Delk Stacy of Yorktown was the violinist. A cocktail hour followed by dinner and dancing on the River Garden Patio completed the celebration.

The bride, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William A. Gwaltney Jr. of Windsor, Virginia, was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father.

She is a granddaughter of Mrs. Dorothy G. Gwaltney and the late Mr. William A. Gwaltney of Windsor, and Mrs. Edith P. Whitfield of Franklin, Virginia, and the late Mr. John Carson Rose, who lived in Carrsville, Virginia.

Hollis is a graduate of Nansemond-Suffolk Academy and Virginia Tech.

She is employed by Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls.

The groom is the son of Mr. Robert Wayne Bridges and Mary Boykin Haile Myers Bridges of Savannah, Georgia.

He is the grandson of Mrs. Sara Beth Bridges and the late Mr. Robert Bridges of Charleston, South Carolina, and Mary Boykin Duval Myers and the late Usher Newton Myers Jr. of Camden, South Carolina.

Robert is a graduate of Benedictine Military School and Ogeechee Tech.

He is employed by Indika Farms Inc. of Windsor.

The matron and maid of honor were Ashley Gwaltney Smith and Brett Nichole Gwaltney, sisters of the bride. Bridesmaids were all friends of the bride and included Mary Boykin Bridges, sister of the groom, Ann Taylor Spain Lusk, Claire Leonard Oliver, Alexis Holland Rawls, Elizabeth Nicole Speight and Britney Bishop Webb.

The groom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen were Boykin Kennedy Beard, Arthur Alvin Buff IV and Kevin Andrew Franz. Master Charles Alexander Smith Jr, nephew of the bride was ring bearer.

After a honeymoon in Belize, the newlyweds will reside in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
