With Bernadette Whitley completing her second full term on the Blackwater Regional Library Board of Trustees and therefore ineligible to run for another, the Southampton County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the appointment of Louann Davis to the open seat. Davis’ term will expire on June 30, 2019, and she will be eligible to serve one additional stint on the board.

“I am delighted that you have agreed to serve on this board and confident that your experience and input will be of great benefit to patrons of library services,” County Administrator Michael W. Johnson said in a letter to Davis. “Southampton County has long been blessed with volunteers like you who devote a portion of their personal time for the benefit of all county citizens.”

The Blackwater Regional Library Board of Trustees meets nine times a year on the third Wednesday of each month. The location rotates among the nine branches of the library system.
