FRANKLIN
When Franklin police officers arrived at the scene of a wreck on North College Drive at Stewart Drive today, one of the vehicles took off. After attempting to elude police, a Norfolk man and woman were captured a short distance later and taken into custody, said Capt. Timothy Whitt, spokesman for the Franklin Police Department.

Arrested were Jeremy Paul Wright, 25, of 1023 Fisherman’s Road, Norfolk, and Brittany Lee Bowman, 21, of 1640 Skyline Drive, Norfolk.

Wright was charged with driving while under the influence of drugs, hit and run, eluding police and possession of a schedule IV narcotic without a prescription. He was remanded to Western Tidewater Regional Jail without bond.

Bowman was charged with possession of a schedule IV narcotic without a prescription and given a $1,500 bond.
