Officers called to tractor-trailer stabbing at Love’s

On Saturday at approximately midnight, Franklin Police Department officers discovered that a Columbus, Ohio, truck driver had reportedly been stabbed by his travel companion in the parking lot of Love’s Travel Stop, said Capt. Timothy Whitt, FPD spokesman.

Catherine Renee Cobb, 45, also of Columbus, was arrested on a charge of malicious wounding.

When officers responded to the the call of the stabbing, they located the big rig at the truck stop and found a man and a women, both covered in blood. The 65-year-old truck driver had received a severe stab wound to his right bicep.

Franklin Rescue transported the victim to Southampton Memorial Hospital for treatment, but due to the severity of the wound, he was transported to another hospital. His current condition is not known at this time.

Cobb, an acquaintance of the truck driver, was remanded to Western Tidewater Regional Jail without bond.
