News from Franklin City Hall this past week that the city is taking steps toward getting the St. Regis Paper Company property cleaned up is positive, if not long overdue.

The location at the intersection of Armory and College Drives — considered prime real estate for development — presents a tremendous opportunity for the right investor but is a detriment to the city in its current state.

More than ever, Franklin needs to do all it can to polish itself up and put its best foot forward. We encourage city leaders to aggressively pursue any and all avenues, including footing the bill if necessary, for getting the site cleared and making it presentable.
