C. Elmer Thompson

Clarence Elmer Thompson, 73, died on May 15, 2015, at his home in Olive Hill, Tenn., following a courageous battle with cancer.

Elmer was predeceased by his first wife, Patsy West, son Bruce, and parents, Clarence and Katherine Thompson.

He is survived by his wife, Lee; son, Wayne (Dena) of Sherwood, Arkansas; stepdaughter, Cheryl Wuelfing (Eric); sisters, Clara Gillette of Franklin, Virginia, and Rebecca Delbridge (Albert) of Emporia, Virginia; and brother, Dana (Gina) of O’Brien, Florida. He was a beloved grandfather to five granchildren; three step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and four step-great-grandchildren.

Elmer lived in Capron and graduated from Southampton High School in 1960. He retired from the Navy as a lieutenant commander after 22 years of dedicated service.

The memorial service was on May 21, at Crump Methodist Church in Crump, Tennessee.
