VIRGINIA BEACH—Alvin Murphy, 55, of Virginia Beach and a native of Southampton County, Virginia, departed this life on Monday, May 25, 2015, at Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin.

Survivors include his wife, Lavonne Murphy; three children, Antonio Murphy, Lakesha Fentress and Demetricia Murphy; two brothers, Andra Murphy and Donny Murphy and seven grandchildren.

The viewing will be from 10 a.m. to noon, followed by the funeral on Saturday, May 30, in Faison’s Funeral Home Inc., 301 Park St., Seaboard, North Carolina.
