SUFFOLK—Charles Clancy Carson Jr., 88, passed away on May 25, 2015, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

He was a native of Martin County, North Carolina, and a son of the late Charles Clancy and Myrtle Lee Thomas Carson, and was predeceased by his wife Mary Virginia Luter Carson.

He was the retired owner of Carson’s Grocery Store and a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII.

Survivors include a sister, Marie C. Rose of Portsmouth; cousins; and best friend and caregiver, Juanita Sydnor.

The graveside service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 29, in Southampton Memorial Park.
