To the Editor:

Thank you for your announcements of our Memorial Day Program to be held on May 25, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the VFW Post 4411 building located at 3385 Beaver Dam Road, Franklin.

We will have the Pattersons in attendance. Mrs. Patterson is a Gold Star Mother. Their son, Sgt. Jayton, D. Patterson, USMC, was killed in action on Jan 15, 2005, in Iraq. Our post is named after him. We have also invited Charles Carson, a WWII Navy veteran of the Pacific Theater.

Boy Scout Troop 17 will be retiring an honored, but worn American flag and then there will be free burgers, hot dogs and drinks; a bounce house for the kids; and various raffles of items.

This is a family and community affair. We invite all to come and remember with us. Thank you again for your support.
