SUSSEX
On May 6, the Franklin High School track team competed in the Sussex County Track and Field Meet.
Girls results:
• Jazmin Jordan placed fifth in the 100M Dash (14.58) and fourth in the 200M Dash (31.52).
• Nachelae Harper placed fifth in the Discus Throw (32-04).
• Josie Rankin placed fourth in the 100 Meter Hurdles (20.46), third in the 400M Run (1:11.96), fifth in the Long Jump (13-03) & first in the High Jump, jumping a state height of 4-10.
• Taciona Smith for placing 3rd in the 300M Hurdles ran a conference qualifying time and personal best of 1:05.32
• Katelyn Woolfolk placed fifth in the Shot Put (18-02).
• Skiler Woolfolk placed fifth in the Mile Run (7:16.96) and fourth in the Discus Throw (41-07).
• The Girls’ 4X400 Relay Team of Josie Rankin, Jazmin Jordan, Cierra Eley and Gabrielle Wade-Bell placed second (56.26).
Boys results:
• Quayshaun Jefferson placed third in the High Jump (5-04), first in the 200M (23.90) and 400M Dashes (53.08), and third in the Triple Jump (39-06) and in the 100M Dash (12.00).
• JaWun Walton placed second in the High Jump with a personal best and region qualifying jump of 5’8”
The FHS Track Team will compete in the Region 1A East Track and Field Tournament on Thursday, May 28, at Sussex Central High School. The tournament starts at 2 p.m.
