Alma P. Williamson

SUFFOLK—Alma Peterson Williamson, 89, passed away on May 16, 2015.
Born in Clinton, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Kelly and Bessie Rogers Peterson.
Mrs. Williamson was a former rural route mail carrier in the Holland, Virginia area, and was a member of South Quay Baptist Church.
This beloved wife, mother and grandmother leaves to cherish her memory her husband, James Richard Williamson; two daughters, Ann Snipes Mears (Ronnie) of Wilmington, North Carolina and Sylvia Williamson Hare (William) of Franklin; two sons, James Thomas Snipes (Phyllis) of Wilson, North Carolina, and Ronald Eugene Snipes (Sandra) of Carrsville; five grandchildren, Lisa Ayscue, April Henderson, Jason Snipes, Kevin Snipes and Jessica Hare; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Juanita P. Scott and Mary P. Cannon, and two brothers, Robert and Lawrence Peterson.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. John Watson officiating. Burial will follow in Southampton Memorial Park.
